
Welcome to Streatham Park Bowling Club. The club was formed in 1948 during a period of post-war rebuilding in the area, although the area also sited Streatham Park Mansion, the one time home of MP and brewer, Henry Thrale, a great friend of Dr Samuel Johnson (creator of the 1st dictionary) who virtually lived there for over 15 years. It was also the home of 18th century Prime Minister, Lord Shelbourne, and was the venue for the signing of the peace treaty with France! Thankfully, the committee no longer deals with such weighty political matters, but we are committed to encouraging people to take up our sport. Bowls is a game for all ages and all abilities, and although it is a terrific pastime for older folks, it is also a highly competitive sport for those who have finished their more active time playing football, cricket, tennis etc. If you would like to have a go, feel free to
